The finishing department is also another area that needs space and is usually just connected to the printing department for efficient processing of materials. The finishing department also needs a lot of equipment, like cutters, laminating machines, and the like.
4. The storage room. You will need a lot of printing supplies because you do not know the orders of clients. You also need to stock up on papers and inks so that you will be protected from price surges that often occur. And sometimes, you are not sure if your suppliers have stocks or not. So you need to fill your stock room with a lot of paper materials. This will need a lot of space materials are big and will occupy a big area.
A full service commercial printing press will need to take up a lot of space. Determine how many square feet you need and multiply it with the national average leasing cost. That will help you determine how much capitalization you will need. For example, the cost per square foot of the area is $18. So if the space that you need is 5,000 square feet, your monthly rental would be $90,000.
